Turgo turbine of single nozzle is used for medium head and small discharge hydropower projects.It can achieve speed governing via micro governors,electric-manual governors and electric governors.They have the peculiarities such as compact structure, small size, high efficiency and less investment, etc. Turgo turbines manufactured by Boland can be used for water head from 55m to 200m, the diameter of the runner is from 0.32m to 0.63m, and the installed capacity of a single unit is from 70KW to 3200KW.
Turgo turbines have deflectors.When turbines are under load dumping,the deflector first moves to deflect the jet to ensure that the rotational speed of the unit does not rise beyond the allowable value, and the jet needles then slowly close to ensure that the water hammer pressure is within the allowable range.
