Introduction
Nan'ao East Peninsula Wind Farm refers to the largest island wind farm in Asia, located in the middle of Nan'ao East Peninsula. According to experts' calculations, the total installed capacity of wind power generation on the island can reach 200,000 kilowatts. The wind conditions in Nan'ao are among the best in the world, with an annual average wind speed of 8.54 m/s and more than 7,000 hours of effective wind speed.
According to expert calculations, the total installed capacity of wind power generation on the island can reach 200,000 kilowatts. Located in the middle of the East Peninsula of Nan'ao, amidst the sea of green mountains and clouds, there is the largest island wind farm in Asia, with hundreds of wind turbines forming the windmill array, constituting a beautiful combination of nature and high technology in a strange landscape.
Wind Resource Situation
As Nan'ao is located at the southwest end of the trumpet of the Taiwan Strait, it provides unique conditions for the development of wind power, which is why Nan'ao is also known as "Wind County". According to the statistics of the meteorological department in Shantou, Nan'ao has an average of 88 days of strong winds of grade 8 or above per year, which is a wind energy resource category I area along the southeast coast of China. According to several typical wind farms in Nan'ao, the average monthly wind speed is 7.0-14.4m1s from October to March every year, which is of great value for large-scale development.
In addition to good wind power resources on land, the offshore wind power resources in Nan'ao are also extremely abundant. The field wind resource measurements of FengYu and Tayu in Nan'ao show that Nan'ao offshore wind farms have excellent resource development indicators and wind resources are 2-3 times more abundant than on land. According to the above two offshore wind farm field measurement data, above 30m high, the minimum wind speed is 6m/s, the annual average wind speed is above 1Om/s, the wind energy utilization hours are up to 7600h, this wind condition resource conditions are very conducive to the construction of megawatt-class wind farms.
Comprehensive information shows that the effective wind resources available in the onshore and offshore areas of Nan'ao amount to 661.6M W, of which 110.6MW in the central region, 100.8M W in the eastern region, 40.2M W in the western region, and 410MW in the offshore wind farm.
Installation
As a small tourist island in the south, Nan'ao is committed to developing wind energy resources and wind power, a renewable and pollution-free new energy source, and has built nine wind power farms in the central and eastern mountainous areas of Nan'ao main island. Among them, the Huaneng Nan'ao Wind Farm invested by Huaneng Group is the largest wind power project on Nan'ao Island, with a total installed capacity of 73,550,000 kilowatts. The wind farm has 91 wind turbines installed and is being built in three phases.
Phase I of the wind farm was started in April 1999 and put into operation in July 2000, with a total of 8 imported turbines with a single capacity of 750 kilowatts, manufactured by Hawes Reef Macon; Phase II was started in June 2006 and put into operation in November 2007, with a total of 53 imported turbines with a single capacity of 850 kilowatts, manufactured by Hawes Reef Vestas; Phase III was started in November 2009 The third phase was started in November 2009 and put into operation in September 2010, with a total of 20 turbines of 750 kW capacity installed in China.
According to incomplete statistics, at present, 218 wind turbines have been installed in Nan'ao, with a total installed capacity of 125,000 kilowatts, which can turn wind into electricity of more than 300 million kilowatt hours per year, making it the "big brother" of wind power farms in Asian islands. 2011-2020, Nan'ao plans to add wind power installed capacity of }Q290M W;
By 2020, South Australia plans a total of 25 wind farms (21 onshore, 4 offshore), with a total installed capacity of 621.4M W (211.4M W onshore, 410MW offshore). Some information shows that from January to October 2012, Nan'ao wind power projects created a total output value of 49.44 million yuan, accounting for 20% of the county's total industrial output value.
Significance
The South China Power Grid Company has set up a demonstration project on Nan'ao Island for the "research and development of flexible DC transmission and access technology for large wind farms", and plans to build a multi-terminal flexible DC transmission system with a voltage level of 160kV and a transmission capacity of 200M W. The flexible DC system will realize the stable and reliable transmission of large-scale wind power on Nan'ao Island. reliable delivery of large-scale wind power on Nan'ao Island.
On September 3 this year, the world's first 160kV submarine DC cable was officially laid in the sea of Nan'ao, Shantou. As an important part of the world's first multi-terminal flexible DC transmission system project, the 9.3-kilometer-long cable will open up the transmission "channel" from the Laiwu terminal field in Chenghai District, Shantou City to the Changshanwei terminal field on Nan'ao Island. By then, the two converter stations on the wind power side of Nan'ao Island will be connected to the converter stations on the mainland grid side, which means that DC power transmission between Nan'ao Island and both sides of the mainland will be possible.
Nan'ao Island plays the advantage of wind power construction, intends to develop wind power ecological excursion projects, so that the island of Asia's largest island wind farm has become famous at home and abroad as a tourist hotspot, opened into the country's first wind power science park.
