In 2018, the Taipingli Wind Farm in Hunan Province ("Taipingli Wind Farm") performed exceptionally well, reaching 2,104 hours of annual utilisation for Phase I of the wind farm at an annual average wind speed of 5.6 m/s. It was also awarded the "Most Beautiful Wind Farm" by Wind Energy Magazine in 2016 for its overall environmental protection and water conservation efforts, and its perfect integration with the surrounding environment.
The construction scale of Hunan Huadian Chenzhou Taipingli Wind Power Project is 99.5MW. Most of the Taipingli Wind Power Farm is located in the low mountainous hilly area in Yizhang County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, straddling Wuling Town, Baishi Du Town and Yangmeishan Town, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, which is a medium to low speed mountainous wind farm in the south.
The Taipingli Wind FarmDriving up the mountain, the landscape is picturesque as far as the eye can see, with layers of greenery against the blue sky and the occasional smiling pedestrian. In the distance, several white wind turbines are dotted on the ridge, slowly turning and adding a little more movement to the tranquillity of the area.
